Outstanding A Level Results at CNS
Once again students at Chipping Norton School have been
celebrating outstanding A level results. Over 80% of the 2013 cohort achieved
A*-C grades and nearly six out of ten grades awarded were A*, A or B. One
quarter of students achieved two or more A and A* grades.
The vast majority of students who have applied for
University have secured their first choice of University, many of which are at
Russell Group Universities. Particularly pleasing results in subjects such as
Chemistry, Dance, Drama, Design, Electronics, English Language &
Literature, English Literature, Geography, and Maths have strengthened Chipping
Norton School's reputation for quality at the academic core of learning. In
fact nearly half of all examinations subjects studied were Mathematics and Science.

A's), Ben Silvester (1 A*, 2 A's), Dale Topley, (1 A*, 2A's), Holly Poulton (3
A's)
Headteacher, Simon Duffy, said: "I am delighted with
the fantastic results that our students have achieved. The combined effort,
hard work and determination of our students and their teachers, supported by
parents has contributed to some outstanding grades. More students than in
previous years have achieved the top grades.
It has been an exciting summer, so far at Chipping Norton
School. A Summer School for Year 5 students was just one of the many activities
taking place. The highlight of this was a Science activity where students sent
a digital camera up into earth's atmosphere and captured some amazing images
from the edge of space.
It is the breadth of opportunities that Chipping Norton
School provides for young people in our local community, together with the very
strong academic achievements of our students, that make the school such a
special and unique place to learn, and a school of which I am very proud to be
the Headteacher."
