As Mikegee as already said most people must have had through
their letterbox- Chipping Norton: Looking Back, Stepping Forward, Lite. The
main copy being 34 pages long, referred to as ; A working paper towards the
Chipping Norton neighbourhood Plan - shaping the future development of our town
to 2029. Haven't we all heard that before?
As you may have seen in the "Lite" version it goes
on and on and on about "Key Facts" and "What You said" With
more and more "Key facts" My question again is Why? Do they really
think Chippyites are actually interested in another set of facts and figures
that a. They're not interested and b. They cannot actually influence in any way
shape or form. Again you have another group of starry eyed believers think they
are going to influence the future of Chipping Norton.
Well let me make it quite clear the only people who will
decide about the future of Chipping Norton is that un-elected body of pen-pushing civil servants at West Oxfordshire District Council. Don't believe me? Read the bottom
left hand corner of the "Lite" version, it says,
The neighbourhood plan MUST conform to the wider West Oxfordshire local Plan currently being produced by WODC as well as national planning policies outlined by government. It can, however, shape and influence where development might go and what it will look like.

So there you are then, Pleas for shops on the War Memorial
site...Ignored. Objection of change of use from a shop to a place of worship...Ignored.
Objection to a late night takeaway near a residential area...Ignored. Quite
simply Chipping Norton residents have no say in the future of the town...and...
with objectives like... Ensure all new development enhances the town centre's
special character and appearance... and...Development must conserve the natural
enviroment and where possible enhance it. This includes local green infrastructure
and bioddiversity??? With all that b******s
we don't stand a chance. Roll on the third edition in 2223, can't wait to see
what's in that one.
