Self proclaimed ‘Heir to Blair’ David Cameron will express remorse for the deeply shameful Amritsar massacrer in India in 1919 though stopping short of an apology. Downing Street is keen to avoid the ridicule that Tony Blair attracted by apologising for the sins of previous generations. Downing Street said ‘This is different, the Prime Minister apologised for the Hillsborough disaster and subsequent cover-up along with ‘Bloody Sunday’ not that Blair actually apologised for those so it’s two to us’ They went on to say ‘ We’re trawling through the history books looking for something else to apologise for, it has already been suggested that the Prime Minister should apologise to German chancellor Angela Merkel for the loss to Germany by opposing Adolf Hitler during the second world war. Downing Street was also considering apologising for the extinction of the Dinosaurs and possibly the Crucifixion due to the Roman occupation of Britain.
