With the huge defence cuts looming the government have made it clear that unless the Royal Air Force make drastic cuts the world famous Red Arrows may have to disband. The Prime Minister David Cameron has made it quite clear ‘we cannot continue spending this kind of money frivolously while we have other commitments around the world particularly aid to the third world’ he went on to say ‘many nations see us as no longer as world leaders but I disagree, we have to continue to make ourselves look good as world leaders no matter what the cost’ the Prime Minister has threatened the RAF that unless the Red Arrows reduce their costs they will have to go.

The Royal Air Force has hit back saying ‘we expected this, the Prime Minister has committed us to defending the Falklands with nothing so we put a proposal to the Ministry of Defence to ensure the continuation of the Red Arrows by charging members of the public for rides during displays.

With the huge popularity of extreme rides the RAF came up with the idea of attaching roller-coaster seats to the underside of the aircraft giving the ultimate thrill. An unnamed MOD spokesman Group Captain William Stannier said ‘ the need to generate urgent funds for the survival of the Red Arrows is paramount fortunately the idea came from a servicemen after a roller coaster ride at Blackpool Beach, as you can see we have already experimented with irks* (*irks are expendable junior servicemen and women) Wing Commander Stannier also said ‘young people will pay for the ultimate thrill at £1000 per ride’ he also said ‘nine aircraft carrying four riders will add £36,000 to RAF coffers each display and with over one hundred displays every year we can expect to make a lot of wonga.

A Defence Minister who wished not to be named Mr Henry Ord said ‘ there is a serious aspect to this idea, ultimately the intention is to use this idea to drop troops behind enemy lines by flying low and then pulling up and releasing troops right onto the front line, they would glide down like flying tree squirrels, it would certainly surprise the Taliban’.

One of the Red Arrow pilots said ‘hearing our passengers screaming above the roar of the engine is amazing the screams are for real’
One rider said ‘it's awesome except when you get hit by a bee, that really stings, I hope I don’t get hit by a bird but I would defiantly do it again.
