Churchill Road Development
Public Consultation
Event: West End Farm, Churchill Road, Chipping
Norton
Demand for housing
in West Oxfordshire is high. The draft Local Plan sets out how much housing is
needed and has identified Chipping Norton as a main service centre where growth
will take place. The Town Council is leading the preparation of a Neighbourhood
Plan which will identify sites which can accommodate this growth. We believe
that land at Churchill Road is an ideal site for residential development and can
also help create a new high quality gateway to the town.
Sharba Homes would
like to share their emerging concept plan for this site with local people and to
listen to their views, suggestions and comments. To facilitate this we have
prepared a leaflet explaining how the scheme has developed and how local factors
have been taken into account in shaping the design. This leaflet will be
distributed to homes and businesses in Chipping Norton on 13th
February 2013. I have attached an electronic copy of the leaflet for you.
In addition to
distributing the leaflet, we are also holding an exhibition where members of the
project team will be on hand to listen to thoughts and suggestions from local
people. The exhibition will take place at:
Chipping Norton
Theatre, Spring Street, Chipping Norton, OX7 5NL
Finally, in order
to engage as widely as possible, we have also set up a project website, which
can be accessed at www.churchill-road.co.uk.
This will go live on 13th February 2013. The website also includes a
response facility.
The consultation
will close on Sunday 10th March.
We are keen to
ensure that the consultation is as wide and inclusive as possible and would be
very grateful if you could cascade this information to others within your group
/ organisation.
We have attached a
formal letter outlining the information above for your
records.
We look forward to
hearing from you / meeting you at the exhibition. If you have any queries
regarding this letter, please do not hesitate to contact me either by email at
helen.bateman@pegasuspg.co.uk
or
telephone (0121 308 9570).
